All campers are assigned to a division based on gender and age. Campers eat with and participate in many activities with the other campers in their division rooms.
Each division is staffed with a division leader and several counselors. The
number of counselors varies depending on the number of campers in the division. Our goal is to have one staff member in
each division for every four campers.
All campers participate in activity periods 1 through 4 with their division groups. Activity period 1 alternates between
conditioning, stretching and weight training depending on the age of the division members. Older campers have more
intense weight and strength training while younger campers are introduced to more team sports. Activities in periods 2 through 4
include softball, volleyball, swimming, soccer, paint ball, go-karts, biking, street hockey, archery, kick ball,
basketball and tennis, among other sports and activities. Periods 2 and 3 are generally more
physical in nature while period 4 often focuses on less strenuous activities such as arts & crafts in addition to nutrition
classes, Expressions classes and Connections classes.

Activity Period 5 is known as ‘Club Time’ and allows campers to choose from among several activities in a cross-divisional
structure. The selected activities change weekly and include both physical activities such as softball, kickball,
aerobics, volleyball, mountain biking, tennis, swimming and paintball and less strenuous activities such as go-karts and cooking
classes.
Evening Activities
Evening activities include weekly themed dances, dances under the stars, camp fires, skits, all-camp games and movies among other
things. 2009 introduced the ‘Main Event’ featuring Danny ‘Ginger Pits’ on Friday evenings as well as a ‘gold rush’ and ‘counselor
auction’ and brings back many favorites including a scavenger hunt, Dutch auction and the ‘Beauty-less Pageant.’
The typical daily schedule is altered on event days such as ‘International Day’, ‘Survivor Day’ and ‘College Day’, during
‘Color War’ and on days when the campers and staff go on an all-camp trip.
Special Event Days
Event days are single days that split the camp across divisions into eight teams that engage in a competition of friendly
athletic and non-athletic endeavors. Color War is an end-of-summer four day event that divides the camp into ‘Red’ and ‘Blue’
teams and pits the teams against each other in a wide variety of physical and non-physical events.
All-Camp & Optional Trips
All-camp trips include fireworks on July 4, trips to the local Mall, trips to
a local state park with an excellent swimming lake, bowling, roller skating, movies and an all day trip to Six Flags New England in nearby Springfield.
Participation in optional trips does not impact the daily calendar. Campers going white water rafting,
tournament paint balling or horse back riding are accompanied by staff and
simply leave campus for the event. The rest of camp remains on the normal daily schedule and awaits their return.
